Rama and Joseph fled Syria because of family threats due to their marriage.

Rama is a convert from Islam, while Joseph is from a Christian background. Their marriage is considered illegal in Syria.

Rama’s family complained to a police officer who beat Joseph and warned him to stay away from Rama. The couple then fled to a neighbouring country.

This country also does not recognise marriage between a woman considered legally to be Muslim and a non-Muslim man. Therefore, Joseph and Rama have applied for resettlement to a Western country.

Prayer Points

Rama and Joseph request prayer for:

  • God’s peace in their hearts while they wait
  • their resettlement application to be accepted so they can move to a country where their marriage is legally recognised and they can start a family
  • finding a job in their current location so they can support themselves
