Iranian Christians request prayer for Ayoub Poor-Rezazade whose location and state of health are unknown.
Intelligence agents in Rasht arrested Ayoub, along with other Christian converts Morteza Mashhoudkari and Ahmad Sarparast, on the evening of 5 September. They were held and interrogated in the intelligence offices in Rasht, and Ayoub was able to contact his family from there. The prosecutor refused to grant them bail and Morteza and Ahmad were transferred to Lakan Prison in Rasht on 18 September.
Ayoub’s family were informed by Iranian intelligence that Ayoub had also been taken to Lakan Prison. Morteza and Ahmad, in calls to family members from prison, said he was not there. Ayoub’s family and friends are concerned for his well-being.
Please pray that:
- Ayoub’s present situation will quickly become known and that his family will no longer be worried about the confusion and lack of reliable information
- God will encourage and strengthen Ayoub, Morteza and Ahmad and grant them peace during their imprisonment
- Engaging in Christian activities and meeting with fellow Christians would not be considered a crime in Iran
- Iran will cease its victimisation of Christian converts and other religious communities
