Rama and Joseph request prayer for a resettlement interview scheduled for 28 October 2021.

As MEC previously reported, Rama and Joseph fled Syria because of family threats due to their marriage. Rama is a convert from Islam, while Joseph is from a Christian background. Their marriage is considered illegal in Syria.

The couple fled after Rama’s family complained to a police officer, who beat Joseph and warned him to stay away from her. The country they are living in does not recognise marriage between a woman considered legally Muslim and a non-Muslim man, therefore the couple have applied for resettlement.

Prayer Points

Rama and Joseph request prayer:

  • for God’s peace during the interview and patience to wait for the outcome
  • that their resettlement application will be accepted so they can move to a country where their marriage is legally recognised and they can start a family
  • for them to trust God and his timing completely
