Middle East Concern, in collaboration with Open Doors International, Article 18 and CSW has released the 2024 annual report on violations of the rights of Christians in Iran.

In 2023, Iranians’ fundamental freedoms continued to be  curtailed by state authorities. This report seeks to shed light on the challenges faced by the Christian community within the wider context of Iranian society

Iranian Christians, along with other religious minorities, continued to suffer multiple violations of their right to freedom of religion or belief. Ongoing surveillance by the authorities was often accompanied by harassment and the threat of criminal charges. .

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the Iranian regime has illustrated a consistency in its oppression of Christians which meets the international definition of persecution as articulated in the Rome Statute. However, the manner in which this persecution is expressed continues to adapt and change.
