Iranian Christians request prayer for Rahmat Rostamipour (49) who remains detained after being arrested at his home in Anzali on 18 April.
A dozen plain-clothes Iranian intelligence agents raided the house of Christian convert Rahmat early in the morning, confiscating Bibles, IDs, mobile phones, and tablets belonging to his children.
The agents had intended on arresting Rahmat’s wife, Azar, but during the raid their teenage daughter was traumatised and suffered a panic attack. Azar was instead summoned the following day to security offices for interrogation.
Azar was interrogated on 19 April for several hours and verbally accused of propaganda against the regime through involvement in house-church activities. Neither Azar nor Rahmat has been formally charged.
Prayer Points
Prayer is requested that:
- Rahmat will be released soon
- The couple will not be charged with criminal activity on account of their faith or Christian activities
- The Lord will comfort the family and give His peace and that the children will not suffer anxiety or emotional trauma
- The Iranian authorities will stop the persecution of people for their faith (or lack thereof)
